Hey gang members, I put on my hair net and my red bandana (tied in the "special" knot)--and came across this article that I wanted to share with you. http://www.museum.tv/eotvsection.php?entrycode=talkshows
Also, I thought it would be a good idea if we started brainstorming some ideas for a new name for the show. Here are a few of my own: Big Night With Slash, The Slash Show, Slash and Company....your turn....I pass the bandana and hair net your way. -Scary
How about "SLASH!"
ReplyDeleteor "SLASH! Live in Richmond"
or "SLASH! Primetime Live"
Greetings and felicitations, Gang of Slash,
ReplyDeleteI, too, have been mulling over the "Name the show" question. What I've tried to do is use "Slash" as a virgule in a show name. Why virgule? Because I want you to have to look that up as I did.
An example of this idea would be "and/or" as "and Slash or." Yes, that's a bad example, unless we want a nonsensical name. But you get the idea: use "Slash" in the manner of a forward slash between two alternatives. "Comedy Slash Tragedy" would be ... another bad example but a "bad" that's going in the right direction. Sort of. Maybe.
A permutation of this idea might be to use Mr. Coleman's disembodied head in such a name instead of "Slash." Using his head might make a potential show name work better that with "Slash" in it. Or not. It would just depend.
I've worked on this "'Slash' for a forward" approach for awhile but haven't come up with anything I like. Any thoughts on this, fellow gang members?
Another thought I had was to use "Slash" in the sense of "slasher" or "slashing" in a name. This idea has also gone absolutely nowhere.
The challenge, of course, is a fun name that also conveys that essential "this is a show" thought. Using "Slash" helps brand the show. But if we can come up with a neat name that's offbeat and different and doesn't use "Slash" that could work as well.
All for now. And thank you for reading this far.
